About the position

As a Java Developer or Python Developer with a focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM), you will play a pivotal role in reimagining how we collaborate with our customers and partners. This position is based in New York, New Jersey, and involves both full-time and contract opportunities. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the architectural design and implementation planning of critical systems such as Active Directory, Azure, and Unix Kerberos. You will be tasked with designing, building, and operationalizing enterprise-scale security services that are essential for the organization’s infrastructure. In this role, you will engage in technical hands-on engineering and management of Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, and Kerberos. You will be responsible for writing tooling to automate repetitive tasks, customizing reports for audits and re-certifications, and ensuring integration with the firm’s standard re-certification and review systems. Your work will involve developing robust functionality within a complex, distributed systems codebase, supporting and maintaining existing functionalities, and onboarding new functionalities to existing applications. You will need to work independently while contributing to a large team that delivers solutions to meet the needs of executive management and the general employee population. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in engineering, deployment, and management of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, and Kerberos. You will need to possess strong scripting and programming skills in languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Java, which are essential for automating tasks and customizing solutions. A deep understanding of IAM principles, web authentication, DNS sub-systems, TCP/IP, WNS, DHCP, networking, containerization, and Unix is crucial. You will also need to demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and debug issues in a fast-paced environment, analyze system performance, and ensure fault tolerance and scalability in enterprise systems. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design and implementation planning of Active Directory, Azure, and Unix Kerberos.
  • Engage in technical hands-on engineering and management of Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, and Kerberos.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in engineering, deployment, and management of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure (e.g., Entra ID), and Kerberos.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
  • Knowledge of IAM principles and best practices for securing access to resources.
  • Expertise in web authentication, DNS sub-systems, TCP/IP, WNS, DHCP, Networking, Containerization, and Unix.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to switch contexts between various products and services.
  • Ability to analyze system performance and capacity metrics and tune systems accordingly.
  • Good understanding of building, deploying, and maintaining applications in an enterprise environment.
  • Deep understanding of fault tolerance and scalability in enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of UI concepts and implementation.
  • Experience with microservices and orchestration.
