About the position

The Java Developer role is a full-time position based in San Diego, CA, focusing on developing and managing applications using Java and various AWS services. The position requires strong technical expertise in Java development, event-driven architectures, and DevOps practices, along with effective communication skills for collaboration with external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage applications using Java (JDK 1.7 and 1.8) and associated frameworks.
  • Utilize AWS native services such as EC2, API Gateway, S3, SQS, SNS, ECS, and CloudWatch.
  • Implement event-driven architectures and manage applications that rely on these paradigms.
  • Manage code repository effectively using Git or Bitbucket, including merging and unmerging code versions.
  • Coordinate with external partners for seamless integration and communication.
  • Manage containers using Kubernetes, EKS, or similar frameworks, including cluster management.
  • Set up, configure, and troubleshoot Docker environments.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Nexus Repository Manager.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues through strong troubleshooting and analysis skills.
  • Ensure efficient development environments through local setup and debugging.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java development (JDK 1.7 and 1.8).
  • Extensive experience with AWS services including EC2, API Gateway, S3, SQS, SNS, ECS, CloudWatch, and Docker.
  • Proven experience with event-driven architectures.
  • Expertise in code repository management with Git or Bitbucket.
  • Strong experience with third-party collaboration and communication.
  • Proficient in container management with Kubernetes, EKS, or similar frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker for local setup and troubleshooting.
  • Extensive DevOps CI/CD experience with tools like Jenkins and Nexus Repository Manager.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analysis skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the insurance domain.
  • Basic knowledge of Python.
  • Core Java knowledge and experience with Hibernate, JPA.
  • Understanding of the insurance policy lifecycle and payment gateway integration.
