We have an immediate need for a Java Software Developer Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program aimed at providing Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems. This position is based in a DevOps framework, where the candidate will participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle. This includes scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing. The role requires a proactive approach to software programming initiatives that support innovation and enhancement, utilizing technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Python, SpringBoot, Hibernate, and Angular. The Java Developer SME will be responsible for developing and directing software system validation and testing methods using tools like Junit and Katalon. The candidate will also develop and integrate custom software solutions to leverage automated deployment technologies, prototype and deploy solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions, and coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases. Analyzing infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs is also a critical aspect of this role. The position supports the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices and requires the use of industry-leading DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Unix bash scripting. The candidate will document and perform systems software development, including the deployment of build artifacts across different environments while leveraging GitFlow constructs. Effective communication of key project data to team members is essential to build team cohesion and effectiveness. Additionally, the candidate will leverage the Atlassian tool suite, including JIRA and Confluence, to track activities and identify best practices and standard operating procedures. The role demands the creation of innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.
