About the position

The Java Developer position focuses on designing, developing, and supporting applications using Java technologies and the Spring Framework. The role requires hands-on experience with microservice architecture and Java services, along with a solid understanding of SDLC standards and release management procedures. This is a hybrid position based in Tampa, FL, for a duration of 12 months on a contract basis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support applications using Java technologies and Spring Framework.
• Utilize microservice architecture and Java services in application development.
• Work with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle.
• Execute Unix/Linux Shell commands as part of application support.
• Manage version control using Git/Bitbucket.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC standards, release management procedures, and code quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members while owning individual work streams and executing tasks with minimal guidance.

Requirements

• 6-8 years of relevant experience in Java development.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Hands-on experience with microservice architecture and Java services.
• Working knowledge of RDBMS, particularly Oracle.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux Shell commands.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket for version control.
• Understanding of SDLC standards and release management procedures.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with JMS, Kafka, and Redhat OpenShift.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools for source control.
• Prior experience in the Financial Industry and Reference Data Management.
