The position involves preparing technical design and developing telematics product features using Java/J2EE and database-related technologies. The role requires collaboration with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality, timely deliverables as a strong hands-on technical member in telematics product development activities. Responsibilities include developing service and client-side code and database scripts that can support high-volume transactions, producing clean, unit-tested, and refactored code, analyzing and troubleshooting production issues, and maintaining knowledge of current production systems and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design and develop telematics product features using Java/J2EE and Database related technologies.
- Work collaboratively with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality, timely deliverables.
- Develop service and client-side code and database scripts that can support high-volume transactions.
- Produce clean, unit-tested, and refactored code when required.
- Actively analyze and troubleshoot any issues that arise in production and design and develop solutions to fix the reported defects.
- Analyze and report the production issue and ticket trend and provide recommendations.
- Triage and track production issues, troubleshoot activities, create and maintain tickets, and follow up with vendors.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to satisfy customer requests and provide resolution strategies for incoming issues.
- Identify root causes of technical issues in production and document root cause analysis.
- Maintain knowledge and technical expertise of current production systems and implement best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant field.
- 7+ years of experience in development and design with Java, J2EE and database technologies, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
- Minimum of 4 years of recent experience in Java and J2EE technologies.
- Experience in J2EE technologies like Spring framework, iBatis/MyBatis or similar ORM framework, REST/SOAP Web Services, Java design patterns, MVC, JMS and Servlets.
- Hands-on experience in databases like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, capable of writing complex DB queries and performing SQL analysis and tuning.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) concepts.
- Proficient in deploying applications on J2EE Web/Application servers like JBoss, WebLogic and Tomcat.
- Production incident and issue management experience with strong problem solving and root cause analysis background.
- Experience working on complex technical projects in a multi-vendor project environment.
- Self-driven in completing tasks with less/no supervision.
- Flexible in working mode between development and support applications.
- Ability to work as a team and display excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to multi-task and maintain composure.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of SOA vs micro services and their appropriate application.
- Ability to learn or have pre-existing knowledge of basic connected car architecture including systems integration.
- Experience writing & maintaining functional and technical designs documents using either UML or EA.
- Experience in Jenkins, JIRA, Eclipse, Git, Bitbucket, Unix.
- Front end technology knowledge like web-based and smartphone-based applications.
- Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate related technologies.
- Good understanding of networking protocols.
