Java Developer - Telematics (Bilingual Korean/English)

The position involves preparing technical design and developing telematics product features using Java/J2EE and database-related technologies. The role requires collaboration with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality, timely deliverables. As a strong hands-on technical member in telematics product development activities, the candidate will develop service and client-side code and database scripts that can support high-volume transactions. The position also includes analyzing and troubleshooting production issues, maintaining knowledge of current production systems, and interacting with project teams for new product development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical design and develop telematics product features using Java/J2EE and database technologies.
• Collaborate with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality deliverables.
• Develop service and client-side code and database scripts for high-volume transactions.
• Produce clean, unit-tested, and refactored code as required.
• Analyze and troubleshoot production issues and design solutions to fix defects.
• Analyze production issues and ticket trends, providing recommendations.
• Triage and track production issues, create and maintain tickets, and follow up with vendors.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve customer requests.
• Identify root causes of technical issues and document root cause analysis.
• Maintain knowledge of current production systems and implement best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant field.
• 7+ years of experience in development and design with Java, J2EE, and database technologies.
• Minimum of 2 years in a similar role supporting and interfacing with management.

Nice-to-haves

• Minimum of 4 years of recent experience in Java and J2EE technologies.
• Experience in J2EE technologies like Spring framework, iBatis/MyBatis, REST/SOAP Web Services, Java design patterns, MVC, JMS, and Servlets.
• Hands-on experience in databases like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) concepts.
• Proficient in deploying applications on J2EE Web/Application servers like JBoss, WebLogic, and Tomcat.
• Production incident and issue management experience with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience working on complex technical projects in a multi-vendor environment.
• Knowledge of SOA vs microservices and their appropriate application.
• Experience writing & maintaining functional and technical design documents using UML or EA.
• Experience in Jenkins, JIRA, Eclipse, Git, Bitbucket, Unix.
• Front-end technology knowledge like web-based and smartphone-based applications.
• Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate-related technologies.
• Good understanding of networking protocols.

Benefits

• Salary: $100,000/yr to $140,000/yr
