Java Developer - Telematics (Bilingual Korean/English)

The position involves preparing technical design and developing telematics product features using Java/J2EE and database-related technologies. The role requires collaboration with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality, timely deliverables. The candidate will develop service and client-side code and database scripts that can support high-volume transactions, produce clean, unit-tested, and refactored code, and actively analyze and troubleshoot any issues that arise in production. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for analyzing production issues, reporting trends, and providing recommendations, as well as maintaining knowledge of current production systems and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical design and develop telematics product features using Java/J2EE and database technologies.
• Collaborate with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality deliverables.
• Develop service and client-side code and database scripts for high-volume transactions.
• Produce clean, unit-tested, and refactored code.
• Analyze and troubleshoot production issues and design solutions.
• Analyze production issue trends and provide recommendations.
• Maintain knowledge of current production systems and implement best practices.
• Identify issues and risks related to the Issue/Incident Management program.
• Interact with project teams for new product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant field.
• 7+ years of experience in development and design with Java, J2EE, and database technologies.
• Minimum of 2 years in a similar role supporting and interfacing with management.
• Minimum of 4 years of recent experience in Java and J2EE technologies.
• Experience in J2EE technologies like Spring framework, iBatis/MyBatis, REST/SOAP Web Services, Java design patterns, MVC, JMS, and Servlets.
• Hands-on experience in databases like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) concepts.
• Proficient in deploying applications on J2EE Web/Application servers like JBoss, WebLogic, and Tomcat.
• Production incident and issue management experience with strong problem-solving and root cause analysis background.
• Experience working on complex technical projects in a multi-vendor project environment.
• Self-driven in completing tasks with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of SOA vs microservices and their appropriate application.
• Ability to learn or have pre-existing knowledge of basic connected car architecture.
• Experience writing & maintaining functional and technical design documents using UML or EA.
• Experience in Jenkins, JIRA, Eclipse, Git, Bitbucket, Unix.
• Front-end technology knowledge like web-based and smartphone-based applications.
• Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate related technologies.
• Good understanding of networking protocols.

Benefits

• Salary range: $100,000/yr to $140,000/yr.
