About the position

The Java Developer - Telematics position at Woongjin, Inc. involves preparing technical designs and developing telematics product features using Java/J2EE and database technologies. The role requires collaboration with product management teams to deliver high-quality features, troubleshoot production issues, and improve existing technologies. The developer will also be responsible for maintaining knowledge of current production systems and implementing best practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical design and develop telematics product features using Java/J2EE and Database related technologies
• Work collaboratively with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality deliverables
• Develop service and client-side code and database scripts that support high-volume transactions
• Produce clean, unit-tested, and refactored code when required
• Analyze and troubleshoot production issues and design solutions to fix defects
• Analyze production issue trends and provide recommendations
• Develop steps and processes to improve current technology
• Manage production issue triage, tracking, and troubleshooting activities
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve customer requests
• Identify root causes of technical issues and document root cause analysis
• Maintain knowledge of current production systems and implement best practices
• Identify issues and risks related to the Issue/Incident Management program

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant field
• 7+ years of experience in development and design with Java, J2EE and database technologies
• Minimum of 2 years in a similar role supporting and interfacing with management
• Minimum of 4 years of recent experience in Java and J2EE technologies
• Experience in J2EE technologies like Spring framework, iBatis/MyBatis, REST/SOAP Web Services, Java design patterns, MVC, JMS and Servlets
• Hands-on experience in databases like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) concepts
• Proficient in deploying applications on J2EE Web/Application servers like JBoss, WebLogic and Tomcat
• Production incident and issue management experience with strong problem solving and root cause analysis background

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of SOA vs micro services and their appropriate application
• Ability to learn or have knowledge of connected car architecture
• Experience writing & maintaining functional and technical designs documents using UML or EA
• Experience in Jenkins, JIRA, Eclipse, Git, Bitbucket, Unix
• Front end technology knowledge like web-based and smartphone-based applications
• Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate related technologies
• Good understanding of networking protocols
