About the position

The Java Developer position within the Electronic Cash Technology (ECT) team focuses on supporting the Electronic Trading business in the Global Markets Group. The role involves developing and maintaining the next generation Market Connectivity platform, which includes low touch trading solutions such as FIX connectivity and algorithmic trading. The developer will work closely with stakeholders and external systems, providing support and mentoring junior developers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support order management system for electronic trading business involving cash and swaps equities products.
• Interact with stakeholders to answer questions and provide support.
• Collaborate with external systems owners for integration and troubleshooting.
• Work with level 1 support to analyze and troubleshoot issues.
• Mentor junior developers in the team.

Requirements

• In-depth understanding of core Java APIs, including collections and concurrency.
• Extensive experience with multithreaded systems and knowledge of Java garbage collection.
• Familiarity with low latency IO and development practices such as test-driven development.
• Experience with UML and object-oriented design.
• Proficiency in development tools like Eclipse/IntelliJ, Jenkins, Git, TeamCity, and Gradle.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol, including heartbeating, login, sequence numbers, and message types.
• Experience with sockets and network connectivity.
• Demonstrable experience in front office system design and architecture.
• Strong core Java skills with a focus on order management.
