About the position
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with extensive experience in the Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of professional experience in Java development, demonstrating a strong command of object-oriented programming and design principles. This role requires a deep understanding of the P&C insurance landscape, as well as the ability to develop robust applications that meet the needs of our clients in this sector. The successful candidate will be proficient in Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Java EE, and will have a proven track record of developing RESTful APIs and Web Services. Familiarity with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the Angular Framework, is essential for this position, as it will involve collaboration with front-end teams to create seamless user experiences. In addition to technical skills, the candidate must possess excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills, enabling effective teamwork and collaboration. The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently is crucial in this fast-paced environment. Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is also highly desirable. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies will be an advantage, as we strive to maintain a dynamic and responsive development process.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java applications for the Property and Casualty Insurance domain.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and Web Services.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Utilize Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Java EE in application development.
- Work with both SQL and NoSQL database systems, including Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, and Elasticsearch.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong experience in object-oriented programming and design principles.
- Must have Property and Casualty Insurance domain experience.
- Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Java EE.
- Proficient in developing RESTful APIs and Web Services.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular Framework.
- Experience with database systems, both SQL (Oracle/MSSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (Elasticsearch).
