About the position

Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer to join a client in Jersey City, NJ, with a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Java and IBM WebSphere, with a preference for experience in financial services within the Global Market. This position is a contract role, and the rate may be negotiable based on the candidate's experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. The Java Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining applications, ensuring high-quality software design and documentation, and adapting to a constantly changing environment. The role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Candidates should be familiar with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including technology teams, business units, and senior leadership. Experience with Agile methodology is also essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Java applications for financial services in the Global Market.
  • Utilize Java, J2EE, Angular, RESTful Web Services, SQL, XML, and Oracle in application programming.
  • Ensure excellent software design and documentation practices are followed.
  • Handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
  • Communicate effectively across varied areas including technology, business units, and senior leadership.
  • Work on multiple projects concurrently while adhering to Agile methodology.
  • Participate in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) model.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of application programming experience in Java and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Angular, RESTful Web Services, SQL, XML, and Oracle.
  • Excellent software design and documentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and SDLC.
