BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Java Developer for an opportunity in Richmond, VA, Kennesaw, GA, and Chicago, IL. The Java Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and ensuring the delivery of features in accordance with enterprise standards for solution design, coding, and quality. The ideal candidate will ensure that solutions meet product acceptance criteria while minimizing technical debt. Additionally, the Java Developer will be accountable for compliance and security items, providing audit support at the team level, and acting as a liaison for production activities and issues. The role requires collaboration with the Product Owner to maintain a healthy product backlog and clear acceptance criteria for requirements. The Java Developer will also play a team lead role, mentoring team members and guiding them in skills and practices such as planning, estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices. Identifying skill and role gaps within the team and working with the Technology Manager to address these gaps is also a key responsibility. The Java Developer will assist in creating resource contingency plans as needed, ensuring the team is well-equipped to meet project demands.
