About the position

The Java Developer position at Akkodis involves building and maintaining high-performance applications, ensuring seamless data streaming, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance cloud-based solutions. This is a contract role based in Chicago, IL, with a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and deploying Java-based applications with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and optimize solutions.
• Implementing microservices using Spring Boot, managing data streams with Kafka, and deploying applications on AWS.
• Writing and maintaining high-quality code, performing code reviews, and following best practices for software development.
• Developing and executing unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Maintaining documentation and providing technical support to ensure smooth application operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Java development and related technologies.
• 7+ years in one of the following: Java, Spring Boot, with 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS.
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native applications.
