About the position

The Java Developer position at Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) involves working on a contract assignment for a premier banking client in Frisco, TX. The role requires a hybrid work schedule with two days onsite each week. The developer will be responsible for designing and evaluating technical solutions, providing consulting for complex projects, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business units and application teams to identify and evaluate solution requirements.
• Investigate and propose strategic fits for virtualization and consolidation solutions.
• Propose changes to technical architecture and design solutions as applicable.
• Evaluate and align strategic fit solutions across infrastructure platforms.
• Provide client consulting and planning guidance for complex projects.
• Consult with other functional infrastructure areas on multiple initiatives.
• Participate in project teams on architectural and design development.
• Identify and evaluate projects and design processes to enhance existing solutions.
• Map requirements into standard services solutions and identify integration opportunities.
• Review and manage requirements for complex solutions and conduct feasibility analyses.
• Develop and update architectural standards and strategies.
• Evaluate and approve complex design solutions for projects.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in identifying technical solutions for complex business problems.
• 10+ years of technology experience in Core Java and JEE.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Microservices.
• Proficiency in AWS Technologies (Fargate, EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda).
• 5 years of experience mentoring other technologists.
• Preferred experience in frameworks like Spring (core and boot), Angular, or jQuery.
• Preferred experience with tools like Jira, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Ansible, Terraform, or Docker.
