About the position

Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits is seeking a seasoned Java Developer to join their enterprise services team. The role involves developing and enhancing in-house software applications to meet business requirements, utilizing best practices in software development while adhering to company standards. The developer will also provide support to end users and troubleshoot code as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Develop, code, test, and debug software applications using Java.
• Design features and make improvements based on user experience data.
• Work on all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Research, troubleshoot, maintain, and configure software, creating test scripts and testing applications and interfaces.
• Involve in high-level and low-level design for services using microservices architecture.
• Build Java web applications and utilize various Java design patterns and architecture patterns for solutions.
• Follow standards and naming conventions while implementing technology solutions.
• Develop DevOps automation pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitHub.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software/application development or comparable experience.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience working in large complex technology projects.
• Experience with interfaces into and from platforms using APIs, ESB, SAP PI, etc.
• Deep understanding of business functions of supporting applications.
• Experience evaluating and improving code quality and standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in computer science, information systems, or software engineering.
• Experience working with and directing third-party application developers.
• Command of Agile Development processes.
• Wholesale/Distribution/CPG background including accounts receivable and complex pricing.
• Leading and directing offshore application development programs.
