About the position

The Java Developer position at Ampcus, Inc. is a hybrid role based in Houston, Texas, requiring the candidate to work in the office at least three days a week. The role focuses on developing and maintaining Java applications, with an emphasis on object-oriented design and development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java and related technologies, as well as familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java applications using Java 8 or above.
• Implement object-oriented design and development principles.
• Work with relational databases, including SQL and Sybase.
• Utilize Unix bash scripting and/or Python for development tasks.
• Participate in Agile methodology practices, particularly Scrum.
• Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD pipeline processes.
• Collaborate with team members in the financial services industry.

Requirements

• 7 to 9 years of experience as a developer.
• Expert-level experience in Java (8 or above).
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL, Sybase).
• Working knowledge of Unix bash scripting and/or Python.
• Familiarity with Agile methodology (Scrum).
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipeline.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS computing.
• Knowledge of Spring, SOAP/RESTful, XML, JSON, ProtoBuf/Flat Buffers.
• Experience with parallel/concurrent processing/multithreading.
