About the position

The Java Full-Stack Lead Engineer position offers an outstanding long-term contract opportunity with a well-known Financial Services Company. This role is based in various locations including Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC, Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, Minneapolis, MN, and/or Phoenix/Chandler, AZ, and requires onsite presence. The selected candidate will work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry, contributing to projects that satisfy customers' financial needs and help individuals succeed financially. This contract is expected to last for 12 months and comes with a competitive benefits package. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining multiple applications and services specifically for Asset Management and Hardship users. The position involves designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting applications for various projects, which may include application maintenance, small enhancements, and new project builds, as well as upgrades and deployments. The engineer will leverage their strong technical skills in the Java technology stack and cloud environments to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of the business and its clients.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain multiple applications and services for Asset Management/Hardship users.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document applications for projects consisting of application maintenance, small enhancements, and new project builds, including upgrades and deployments.

Requirements

  • Strong technical skills focused in a Java technology stack.
  • Cloud experience (PCF and/or Azure Public).
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in using Java, J2EE, Object Oriented development, Spring Boot, Microservices, API development.
  • Experience with jUnit.
  • Experience with Subversion, Jenkins, GitHub, Gradle, Maven.
  • Experience with deploying applications in PCF environment.
  • Hands-on experience in messaging frameworks - Kafka.
  • Work experience in an AGILE development environment.
  • Good understanding of RDBMS databases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and identify fixes.
  • Ability to react to situations with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • SQL Server preferred.
