About the position

The Java Developer at Menards, Inc. is responsible for writing code according to business and technical specifications, creating automated unit and regression tests, and preparing program specifications and diagrams. This role involves coordinating system installations with user departments and providing advanced software support for applications and team members.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Internet & Design-It Systems applications using JAVA, JSPs, Servlets, Spring, and Object Oriented Design.
• Provide weekly updates on tasks to the Team Leader.
• Troubleshoot problems in collaboration with Business Users, Helpdesk, and technical support Team Members.
• Evaluate customer satisfaction through meetings with Business Users.
• Participate in developing program specifications, writing code, testing, and implementing program changes.
• Develop test plans and thoroughly test/debug all programs prior to implementation.
• Work closely with Team Leaders and Project Managers to provide timeline and task information based on project scope.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or MIS related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Entry level proficiency in Java programming language including JSPs, Servlets, Spring, Hibernate, Eclipse, and Object Oriented Design.
• Familiarity with testing tools and approaches such as JUnit testing, Selenium, Find Bugs, and RQM.
• Familiarity with the Jenkins build process.
• Familiarity with GUI application solutions.
• Software troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent design and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work well on both individual and team-oriented projects.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
