About the position

We are seeking an entry-level Java Developer to join our dynamic team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role involves backend Java and Spring development, with a focus on performance tuning, code refactoring, and automated testing. The position is contract-based, offering a competitive hourly wage.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications.
• Support and/or install software applications/operating systems.
• Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software.
• Familiarize with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Plan and accomplish goals relying on experience and judgment.
• Perform a variety of complicated tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Java and Spring development.
• Heavy experience coding with Spring and Java, preferably in e-commerce and/or SAP Hybris.
• Ability to performance tune and refactor code as well as run necessary automated tests.
