About the position

Randstad Digital is seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a contract position that offers an hourly wage ranging from $58.00 to $58.59. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, particularly in Java, and will be responsible for leading complex technology initiatives that have a broad impact across the company. This role requires a proactive approach to developing standards and best practices for engineering large-scale technology solutions, ensuring that they align with both tactical and strategic business objectives. As a Java Developer, you will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting projects and programs. You will review and analyze complex technology solutions, making informed decisions that influence the direction of engineering and technology practices within the organization. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve intricate technical issues and achieve project goals. In addition to technical expertise, this position requires strong leadership skills, as you will lead projects and teams, and may also serve as a mentor to peers. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering, demonstrating a solid understanding of industry best practices and emerging technologies. Responsibilities

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives.
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions.
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Kafka
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies
