About the position

Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a contract position in Seattle, WA. The role involves developing server-side software, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering features in Agile sprints. The developer will focus on backend development, ensuring high-quality code and participating in SCRUM ceremonies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with product owners, program managers, and architects to define requirements and interfaces between services.
• Writing efficient, scalable, and secure Java code, primarily focusing on backend development.
• Creating and supporting RESTful web services and database interactions using Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
• Participating in SCRUM ceremonies, delivering story validation, and working within Agile sprints.
• Conducting acceptance testing for peer code changes and providing feedback.
• Ensuring high-quality code through documentation, testing, and adherence to software development life cycle processes.
• Occasionally working on client-side user interfaces (HTML, JavaScript) as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java development, with expertise in the Spring Framework and SQL.
• Strong experience with RESTful web services and Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies and tools like Git, Jenkins, and Bitbucket.
