About the position

BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Java Developer for a remote opportunity. The Java Developer will be responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs, as well as testing and evaluating new programs. This role involves resolving problems with software and responding to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. The developer will be tasked with writing and implementing efficient code, developing quality assurance procedures, and deploying software tools, processes, and metrics. The Java Developer will work closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts, and will act as a team leader on projects. Participation in the development of software user manuals is also expected. The role includes instructing, assigning, directing, and checking the work of other software developers on the development team. Additionally, the developer will consult with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements. This position is a full-time contract role expected to last for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal. The anticipated start date is September 2, 2024, although this is subject to change. The pay range for this position is between $54 and $56 per hour on a W2 basis, with actual compensation varying based on factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A minimum of thirteen (13) to twenty (20) years' relevant experience.
  • A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then four additional years of related experience is required.
  • Typically performs all functional duties independently.
  • Special credentials (licenses and/or certifications) may be required at the Task Order level on a case-specific basis.
  • Proficiency in Java, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, Spring framework, Angular, Node.js, shell scripting, and SQL.
