About the position

BCforward is seeking a highly motivated Java J2EE Developer for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Columbus, OH. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and resilient systems using Java, with a focus on continuous improvement and high-quality production code. This position is hybrid, allowing for a mix of onsite and remote work.

Responsibilities

• Participates in design and development of scalable and resilient systems using Java.
• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produces or contributes to architecture and design artifacts for applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets.

Requirements

• Proficient in Java J2EE application development skills and multiple design techniques.
• Working proficiency in Java J2EE development toolset for software design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and ability to work in at least one common framework.
• Strong understanding of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, Cloud Development, application resiliency, and security.
• Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages.
