At Schwab, you are empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us "challenge the status quo" and transform the finance industry together. The Offer Order (O2) team is responsible for Charles Schwab's core client data platform that drives differentiated experiences for customers, accounts, households, and advisors through various channels such as rep tools, branch tools, and call centers. This group is primarily focused on building, delivering, and supporting sophisticated systems that power segmentation, client preferences, and experiences using event-driven architecture, API, batch, and eligibility frameworks to establish resilient and scalable solutions. We are currently in the process of designing the next iteration of our platform to support current and future business capabilities that will delight our customers, with a target of starting core development early next year. It's an exciting time to join this team and be involved in building the next chapter of our platform that is crucial for the firm. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the needs of the business, conducting research on potential options, and recommending optimal solutions based on context. You will identify gaps and mitigate risks to delivery, scalability, performance, security, compliance, and operational readiness, advocating for prioritization where necessary. You will also identify basic KPIs, design and drive teams to implement standardized logging and monitoring frameworks, and proactively drive defensive programming efforts. Your participation in product design and development sessions will be crucial, as will your ability to deliver work on time and with quality. You will write efficient, easy-to-follow technical documentation and understand the team's testing strategies, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and challenging the status quo. Additionally, you will support the team on critical production issues and cultivate a culture of open feedback that promotes accountability for getting better together. You will participate in discussions ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to share their opinion and be heard, and that discussion outcomes tie to stated goals.
