About the position

The Java Developer role at Barclays Services Corp. involves designing, developing, and improving software solutions for the Blackbird Application platform, a strategic low latency Equity Order Management System. The position requires collaboration with various teams to gather requirements, ensure code quality, and optimize application performance while adhering to secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical analysis of infrastructure, tools, and technology.
• Support the development and maintenance of the Blackbird Application platform.
• Work closely with product and business analysts for requirement gathering and architectural decisions.
• Monitor and control all phases of the development process including analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
• Provide user and operational support on applications to business users.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to improve code quality.
• Promote and apply best practices for application deliveries.
• Optimize application code to improve performance.
• Serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java and related programming languages.
• Experience with software development methodologies and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in secure coding practices and unit testing.
