About the position

This long-term contract opportunity is for a Java Developer at a well-known Financial Services Company located in Iselin, NJ. The company has a rich history of over 150 years and is recognized as one of the largest financial institutions globally. The role is hybrid, allowing for a blend of remote and on-site work, and offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $76.38 to $86.06. The selected candidate will work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry, contributing to innovative solutions that meet customers' financial needs and help them succeed financially. As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for consulting on complex initiatives that have a broad impact and require large-scale planning for Software Engineering. This includes reviewing and analyzing complex, multi-faceted Software Engineering challenges that necessitate an in-depth evaluation of various factors, including compliance requirements and deliverables. You will also strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel to ensure successful project outcomes. The position requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to develop user stories while liaising with team members assigned to those stories. The contract duration is set for 12 months, and the role demands a versatile skill set in Java and cloud environments, with a focus on modern technologies such as Java 11/17, Restful Webservices, Microservices, KAFKA integration, and Spring Cloud. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Docker and Kubernetes, as well as cloud technologies including PCF, Azure, Amazon, and Google Cloud, is essential. Candidates with a financial background and solution architecture experience will be preferred, along with those holding a US-based degree.

Responsibilities

  • Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering.
  • Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges.
  • Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Java, versatile in Java and cloud environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with Restful Webservices.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microservices.
  • 3+ years of experience with KAFKA integration.
  • 3-5+ years of experience with Spring Cloud.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies including PCF, Azure, Amazon, and Google Cloud.
  • Must have Agile experience.
