About the position

The position involves providing professional services with a strong technical background in J2EE and web applications. The role focuses on ensuring customer success through system planning and architecture, consulting on optimal solutions for business needs, and participating in the entire project lifecycle from design to implementation and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Delivers Professional Services to sound technical, business and professional standards while ensuring strong customer satisfaction and success.
• Provides technical design and construction expertise to Customer implementations and deployments.
• Helps ensure that Professional Services revenue is realized and that projects are completed on time and on budget.
• Protects and furthers the Company’s excellent service reputation.
• Helps scope projects and write Statements of Work.
• Schedules and delivers code on time with minimal defects.
• Researches and follows up on technical issues related to projects; informs, communicates and trains associates.

Requirements

• 8+ years software consulting experience (implementing enterprise software solutions for customers) including direct customer contact.
• Knowledge and experience with the professional services project lifecycle (scoping, requirements, construction, QA/test).
• Prior experience as a software architect with in-depth expertise in at least one of the specified domains.
• 8+ years of experience in at least two of the following domains: J2EE (Java, JSP, Servlets) with application servers such as Weblogic, JBoss, Websphere, Apache ServiceMix, Apache Tomcat, or Apache Webserver; HTML, HTML5, DHTML, JavaScript (including jQuery UI library, functional objects, state machines); SOA Architecture, Webservices, JMS, JSON, XML; Networking (knowledge of TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, Routing, etc.); Clustering/DB Replication (Active DataGuard, Goldengate); Alcatel-Lucent Technologies (Motive Service Management Platform, Motive Home Device Manager).
• Experience with three of the following domains: MVC frameworks (Struts, Velocity or similar), Spring framework, Unix (Solaris or HP-UX), Microsoft’s Operating Systems, Source control systems (SVN, CVS), Scripting (BeanShell, RhinoScript, JavaScript), Build (Ant, Maven).
• Industry knowledge of Telecommunications related consumer products is a plus.
• Understanding of Call Center operations is a plus.
• Broadband transport technology knowledge is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills; fluency in English is a must, with additional languages being a plus.
• University degree in CS or EE from a reputable University.
• Ability to travel up to 25% internationally.
