About the position

The Java Developer position is focused on developing and maintaining applications using Java technologies. The role requires a highly experienced individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, who can effectively communicate ideas and solutions. The position is onsite in Okemos, Michigan, and is intended to transition from a contract to a permanent role after 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java applications using Core Java/J2EE.
• Design and implement RESTful services.
• Write and optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate Angular 2+ and Typescript components.
• Ensure the application is responsive and user-friendly using HTML/CSS.
• Work with Oracle or other relational databases for data management.
• Implement DevOps practices to streamline development and deployment processes.
• Utilize CI/CD practices for continuous integration and delivery.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in Java development.
• Strong problem-solving skills with analytical reasoning.
• Excellent communication skills to convey thoughts and ideas clearly.
• Proficiency in Core Java/J2EE.
• Experience with REST services.
• Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with Angular 2+ and Typescript.
• Experience with HTML/CSS.
• Proficient in working with Oracle or any relational database.
• Understanding of DevOps practices.
• Experience with CI/CD practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Unix/Shell Scripts.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
