About the position

Kforce is seeking a Software Engineer (Developer Specialty III) to join our team in Boca Raton, FL. This role is pivotal in assisting with the growing roadmap items on a new application, where the selected candidate will engage in research, design, and software development. The Software Engineer will be responsible for high-level technical designs and the implementation of high-quality, customer-driven solutions. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the complete development life cycle, focusing on delivering highly available cloud solutions and enhancing existing applications with new capabilities. In this role, the Software Engineer will implement development processes and conduct coding best-practice reviews within an Agile environment to ensure the delivery of quality products and solutions. Collaboration with technical team members is essential to understand and finalize complex product requirements, translating them into effective software designs. The candidate will also interact with product managers to grasp their needs and convert those requirements into robust software solutions. Ownership of complex technical issues is a key responsibility, ensuring the successful delivery of solutions. The Software Engineer will stay updated with new technology developments to identify cutting-edge innovations for potential future projects. Regular reporting of progress against schedules for all assigned tasks is expected, along with contributions to system and application architecture. Participation in code reviews and other development activities will also be part of the job.

Responsibilities

• Implementing development processes and coding best-practice reviews in an Agile environment to ensure we deliver quality products and solutions
• Collaborating with technical team members to understand and finalize complex product requirements and translate them into software designs
• Interacting with product managers to understand their needs and translate their requirements into effective and robust software solutions
• Taking ownership of complex technical issues to ensure successful delivery of robust solutions
• Keeping up to date with new technology developments to identify cutting-edge innovations for potential future projects
• Responsible for reporting progress against schedule for all assigned tasks on a regular basis
• Contribute to system and application architecture
• Taking part in code reviews and other development activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related major
• 5+ years of Java Development experience, including prior experience as a programmer in a commercial software development environment
• Minimum 5 years of development experience using Java (8 & 11) and Spring Boot
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing solutions with relational & NoSQL Databases (MS SQL Server, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB)
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing Web Services (SOAP & REST)
• Expertise with developing testing automation including unit and integration testing using frameworks and tools such as JUnit, Mockito and Postman/SOAP UI
• Expertise with development and build tools such as Gradle (preferred) or Maven and Git
• Strong experience with continuous integration and delivery using GitHub Actions and GitLab CI/CD
• Strong background with Linux operating systems
• Experience with Docker building images and Kubernetes deployments, services, ingress, config maps and secrets
• Experience with Cloud providers Microsoft Azure and AWS
• Strong object-oriented design skills and a track record of delivering designs to market
