About the position

Infosys is seeking a Java Developer who will play a crucial role in translating software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within existing application frameworks. The selected candidate will leverage their technical proficiency across various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This includes capturing accurate requirements and collaborating closely with team members to prioritize tasks and define the scope of development. The role demands a solid attention to detail, enabling the candidate to identify errors and make necessary adjustments in a testing environment. Additionally, the Java Developer will contribute to the development and adherence to best practices for creating applications that are scalable, relevant, and critical to the project's success. The Java Developer will be expected to engage with the business team to translate business requirements into technical specifications effectively. This position requires strong communication skills to interact with multiple collaborators onsite, including Database Administrators (DBA), Infrastructure teams, Network teams, Business stakeholders, and the Architecture group. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of the business and its users.

Responsibilities

• Translate software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within existing application frameworks.
• Apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Capture accurate requirements and work closely with team members to prioritize tasks and scope of development.
• Identify errors and make adjustments in a testing environment.
• Contribute towards developing and adhering to best practices for developing scalable applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 2 years of Information Technology experience.
• Experience in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and Spring Boot.
• Ability to connect with business teams and translate business requirements into technical requirements.
• Effective communication skills with multiple collaborators such as DBA, Infrastructure team, Network team, Business, and Architecture group.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with application development and support.
• Sound knowledge of SQL, Advanced SQL, Stored Procedures, and Database design.
• Basic knowledge of Design patterns.
• Knowledge of DevOps processes and technologies (Jenkins, Cloudbee, Terraform, etc.).
• Ability to work in a diverse team/multiple team member environment.
• Exposure to Agile methodology of project execution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
