About the position

The Sr. Java Developer role focuses on developing financial applications, particularly in areas such as Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounting. The position requires a strong background in web application development using Java/J2EE and related technologies, with an emphasis on both front-end and back-end development. The candidate will be responsible for gathering business requirements, coding, testing, and ensuring the performance and security of applications. This role is hybrid, requiring local candidates from Cleveland, OH or nearby areas, and involves collaboration within a team as well as independent work.

Responsibilities

• Gather business requirements and analyze them for application development.
• Code and test web-based applications with minimal supervision.
• Offer solutions to improve the performance of existing applications.
• Develop new modules using the latest technologies without affecting existing functionality.
• Migrate Java-based projects and implement security for web applications and web services.
• Work individually or as part of a team based on project requirements.
• Communicate effectively and organize tasks efficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of IT experience.
• 5+ years in J2EE development implementing web applications with Oracle 10g or higher.
• 3+ years in Struts 1.x framework.
• 3+ years in Spring Framework.
• 2+ years in JBoss Application Server (JBoss 5.x, EAP 6.x, EAP 7.x).
• 2+ years in ANT scripting and Maven.
• 3+ years in reporting tools (Jasper Reports preferred).
• 3+ years in Java scripting and XML technologies.
• 4+ years in implementing Web services using SOAP and REST.
• 3+ years in UNIX shell scripting and version control tools like CVS, GIT.
• 3+ years in Junit and 4+ years in SUN Solaris.

Nice-to-haves

• 10+ years of IT experience.
• 2+ years in JBoss Drools rule engine.
• 2+ years in implementing micro-services.
• 4+ years in implementing design patterns and caching technologies.
• 3+ years in Angular JS, Jquery, Node.js.
• Experience with EAP 7.X performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery environment using Jenkins.
• Business background in Financials area (Payroll, AR, Accounting).
