About the position

The Java/J2EE Developer role at Infowave Systems involves working on the Integrity Eligibility Systems (IES) project, primarily focused on developing web applications using Java and J2EE technologies. The position is based in Mechanicsburg, PA, and requires the selected candidates to work onsite after an initial period of 6-8 weeks. The role is expected to last for a duration of 12 months, providing an opportunity to engage in significant coding and development tasks. The developers will be responsible for writing complex SQL queries, conducting root cause research, and performing analysis to ensure the applications function optimally. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about software development and have a strong background in Java technologies. Candidates will be expected to leverage their expertise in Java 6.0 and J2EE application components, including JSP, Custom Tag libraries, JavaScript, and Session EJBs. A solid understanding of Object-Oriented analysis and design principles, particularly using design patterns such as Singleton, Factory, and DAO, is crucial. Additionally, familiarity with MVC architecture and experience in developing batch jobs and web services will be beneficial. The role also requires experience with IBM Websphere Application Server 8.0, particularly in a SuSe Linux 11 environment running on VMware. Strong communication skills are essential, as collaboration with team members and stakeholders will be a key aspect of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Java coding and development for web applications.
  • Write complex SQL queries for database interactions.
  • Conduct root cause research and analysis to troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop and maintain J2EE application components including JSP and Custom Tag libraries.
  • Utilize Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as RAD 7.5 or above for development tasks.

  • Understand and apply MVC architecture in application development.
  • Develop batch jobs and web services as required.
  • Work with IBM Websphere Application Server 8.0 and ensure compatibility with SuSe Linux 11 environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of development experience in Java 6.0 and J2EE application components.
  • Proficiency in JSP, Custom Tag libraries, JavaScript, Session EJBs, and JDBC.
  • Experience using a Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as RAD 7.5 or above.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented analysis and design principles.
  • Familiarity with design patterns such as Singleton, Factory, and DAO.
  • Experience with MVC architecture.
  • Knowledge of batch job and web services development.
  • Experience with IBM Websphere Application Server 8.0.
  • Familiarity with SuSe Linux 11 environment (VMware) is a plus.
  • Experience with relational databases and writing SQL statements in DB2 and Oracle.
