About the position
The Java/JavaScript Full Stack Developer role is a contract position based in McLean, VA, requiring a hybrid work model with onsite presence from Tuesday to Thursday. The developer will focus primarily on front-end technologies, with a significant emphasis on creating sophisticated web applications using Angular, jQuery, and Material Design, while also engaging in back-end development using Java frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications with a focus on front-end technologies such as Angular, jQuery, and Material Design.
- Implement back-end services using Java frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, and microservices architecture.
- Design and document REST APIs for application integration.
- Utilize build and integration tools such as Gradle, Jenkins, Git, and Docker for continuous integration and deployment.
- Collaborate with team members to understand business functions and deliver features accordingly.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Strong background in scalable application development using Java frameworks (Spring/Spring Boot/Spring Cloud).
- Experience in developing rich web UIs with Angular, jQuery, and Material Design.
- Familiarity with REST API design and documentation.
- Knowledge of build and integration tools including Gradle, Jenkins, Git, and Docker.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with fundamental web front-end languages and frameworks.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL Server, Sybase, Redis, and MongoDB.
- Experience in writing automated tests (unit, integration, regression, performance, and acceptance tests).
