About the position

We are a private training school specializing in coding and web development education for adult career changers. We are seeking a part-time, in-person JavaScript Development Instructor to lead our evening classes in Manhattan, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive instruction in JavaScript development, covering essential technologies such as MongoDB, React, Node.js, and more. The instructor will create and implement lesson plans that cater to students with varying levels of experience, ensuring that all learners can grasp complex concepts effectively. In this role, you will foster a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning. You will assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to help them develop their skills. Staying current with industry trends is crucial, as you will need to continuously update course materials to reflect the latest advancements in JavaScript development. Your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and facilitate hands-on learning activities will be key to your success in this position. The classes will be held in the evenings from 6 PM to 9 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential opportunities for weekend classes from 10 AM to 5 PM. This position requires a commitment to teaching in person at our midtown NYC facility, and candidates must be available to teach during these hours.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and interactive JavaScript development instruction to students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Required)
  • 3 years of teaching experience (Required)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, React, Express, Node, and MongoDB.
  • Experience using Zoom and other online meeting platforms.
  • Experience teaching diverse groups in a classroom setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Front-end web development experience (HTML/CSS, WordPress, etc.)
  • Python experience.
