About the position

The Java Server Developer position at Modis in Iselin, NJ, is designed for an advanced or lead level resource responsible for designing, analyzing, developing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting programming to meet business requirements. The role requires proficiency in multiple technologies and design techniques, with a focus on application development within a business-critical production environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, develop, code, test, debug, and document programming to satisfy business requirements.
• Utilize application development skills across multiple technologies.
• Work on the full development lifecycle from inception through implementation.
• Support the development, deployment, and maintenance of large-scale distributed applications.
• Participate in Business Resiliency events and Tech Operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with the full development lifecycle.
• 4+ years of experience with Java and J2EE.
• 5+ years of experience working in Unix environments (AIX / RH Linux).
• 2+ years of experience with Spring and Hibernate.
• 5+ years of experience with Shell Scripting and Cron/Control-M jobs.
• Hands-on experience with build technologies like Maven and Hudson.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of experience with a J2EE/EJB Application Server (preferably WebSphere).
• 3+ years of experience working with Web Services (preferably using WebLogic or Apache Axis).
• Exposure to Open Source technologies (Apache Ant, extjs, jQuery, JUnit, Log4J).
• Working knowledge of Oracle RDBMS.
