About the position

The Software Architect role is focused on designing and developing robust, scalable, and distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and the successful integration of systems. The architect will also implement observability strategies to enhance system reliability and performance, while guiding teams through complex architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop robust, scalable, and distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Create and present comprehensive design and architectural diagrams to various stakeholders.
• Implement observability strategies focusing on metrics, traces, and logging to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Lead and drive solutions involving both SQL and NoSQL transactional databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and CouchDB.
• Guide teams through complex architectural decisions while balancing technical trade-offs.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure successful integration and smooth communication using REST and GraphQL.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Solution Architect with hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and patterns.
• Strong experience with transactional databases (SQL and NoSQL) such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and CouchDB.
• Expertise in observability, including metrics, tracing, and logging to ensure system reliability and troubleshooting.
• Experience working in the financial industry is mandatory, with Amex experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in developing and presenting design and architectural diagrams.
• Experience in Omnichannel and Realtime integration.
