About the position

The Java Software Architect will serve as a Principal Solution Architect, responsible for designing and implementing complex technical solutions within a collaborative environment. This role requires a deep understanding of modern architecture principles, particularly reactive and microservice-oriented architectures, and the ability to guide junior engineers while working across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex technical solutions.
• Provide technical coaching and guidance to junior software and platform engineers.
• Analyze legacy platforms and document current state tech stack and process flows.
• Translate optimized business processes into modern technical architectures.
• Collaborate with multiple departments and squads to ensure alignment on technical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 5+ years of engineering or other IT work experience relevant to the position.
• Deep understanding of reactive architecture principles and familiarity with microservice-oriented architecture.
• Understanding of decentralized and asynchronous data flows and related tools.
• Experience with container hosted application footprints in hybrid cloud/on-premises environments.
• Outstanding problem-solving and communication skills.
• Deep understanding of IT security best practices.
• 5 years experience in Java 17 or higher.
• 5 years experience in Spring 6.x & Spring Boot 3.x.
• 5 years with RESTful API development and back end for front ends.
• 3 years experience in micro-service-oriented back-end architecture & development.
• 2 years experience working in agile/scrum teams.
• 3 years experience with Test Driven Development with Junit.
• Prior experience with Git, GitHub, Jenkins and JFrog.
