About the position

The Java Software Developer will play a crucial role in the development of the Data Manager system at Buyers Edge Platform, focusing on creating a new Business Intelligence (BI) tool. This tool aims to provide a unified source of truth for analytics, enhancing the ability to meet the BI needs of both internal and external stakeholders. The position involves close collaboration with the development team and stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain software features that support the organization's growing data needs.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the development team and stakeholders to design and implement new software features.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the business and our data to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
  • Design and build scalable solutions to support the growing needs of the organization.
  • Work with stakeholders and product owners to understand and define requirements and business needs.
  • Develop high quality code that adheres to best practices in design, proper testing, and good documentation.
  • Fulfill stakeholders' needs and ensure they are satisfied with the end result.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in computer science, other related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience developing in an object-oriented language.
  • Fluent with Java as a programming language.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with relational databases (MySQL preferred, PostgreSQL a plus).
  • Strong experience with Java 8+.
  • Good understanding of agile development (SCRUM a plus).
  • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Experience writing and working with RESTful API architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence.
  • Experience with data engineering a plus.
  • Experience with AWS, Redshift, JPA, and Git a plus.
  • Some experience with React a plus.
