About the position

The Java Software Developer is a technical, hands-on role responsible for designing and coding software applications using Java technologies. This position plays a crucial role in developing high-quality software solutions that enhance the company's service offerings and contribute to its growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications using Java and related technologies
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices
• Perform unit testing and evaluate 'What-if' scenarios to ensure code is functional and robust
• Coordinate with QA and other developers while debugging software components to ensure their reliability and performance
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance technical skills and knowledge
• Review existing code, offering suggestions for improvement as needed

Requirements

• HS Diploma required; College degree preferred
• At least 3 years of experience developing Java applications preferred
• Experience with web application development using Java-based technologies (Java EE, Servlets, JSP, etc.)
• Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL and ORM frameworks
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and build tools (Maven)
• Understanding of data structures (XML/XSL/JSON) and their related parsing libraries
• Knowledge of Software Development Best Practices
• Basic understanding of networking principles
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice-to-haves

• General Knowledge: Programming Concepts, Data Structures, REST/SOAP, SQL
• Java Knowledge: J2EE, Beans, JPA, JMS, WAR/JAR, MultiThreading, LOG4J, JDBC, JSP
• Environment Knowledge: Apache Tomcat (Tomee a plus), Basic Linux, GIT, Eclipse, Maven
