About the position

The Java Software Developer at Buyers Edge Platform will play a crucial role in the development of a new Business Intelligence (BI) tool as part of the Data Manager system. This position involves collaborating with the development team and stakeholders to design and implement software features that enhance analytics capabilities for both internal and external users. The developer will be responsible for creating scalable solutions, writing high-quality code, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction with the final product.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the development team and stakeholders to design and implement new software features.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the business and our data to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
  • Design and build scalable solutions to support the growing needs of the organization.
  • Work with stakeholders and product owners to understand and define requirements and business needs.
  • Develop high quality code that adheres to best practices in design, proper testing, and good documentation.
  • Fulfill stakeholders' needs and ensure they are satisfied with the end result.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in computer science, other related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience developing in an object-oriented language.
  • Fluent with Java as a programming language.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with relational databases (MySQL preferred, PostgreSQL a plus).
  • Strong experience with Java 8+.
  • Good understanding of agile development (SCRUM a plus).
  • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Experience writing and working with RESTful API architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence.
  • Experience with data engineering a plus.
  • Experience with AWS, Redshift, JPA, and Git a plus.
  • Some experience with React a plus.
