About the position

As a Java Software Developer at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will be integral to the development of applications for a large command and control system that supports the nation's Missile Defense System. This role emphasizes collaboration within an Agile development team and requires a strong foundation in software engineering practices, particularly in Java. The position is based in either Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL, and requires on-site presence with no telecommuting options.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications for a large command and control system in support of the Missile Defense System.
• Participate in Agile development processes and practices.
• Create automated test scripts and contribute to pipeline development.
• Engage in software application development on Unix/Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
• Utilize development and management tools such as Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven, Gradle, and Eclipse.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
• 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
• Knowledge of basic software development practices in coding standards and configuration management.
• Experience in software engineering and development in Java.
