About the position
The Java Solution Architect role involves architecting and developing robust, scalable, and distributed systems primarily using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. The position requires creating and presenting comprehensive design and architectural diagrams to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals, and implementing observability strategies to enhance system reliability and performance. The architect will lead solutions involving both SQL and NoSQL databases and guide teams through complex architectural decisions while collaborating closely with stakeholders for successful integration.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop robust, scalable, and distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Create and present comprehensive design and architectural diagrams to various stakeholders.
- Implement observability strategies focusing on metrics, traces, and logging to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Lead and drive solutions involving both SQL and NoSQL transactional databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and CouchDB.
- Guide teams through complex architectural decisions while balancing technical trade-offs.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure successful integration and smooth communication using REST and GraphQL.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a Solution Architect with hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture and patterns.
- Strong experience with transactional databases (SQL and NoSQL) such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and CouchDB.
- Expertise in observability, including metrics, tracing, and logging to ensure system reliability and troubleshooting.
- Experience working in the financial industry is mandatory, with Amex experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and presenting design and architectural diagrams.
