About the position

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology Finance Technology (RAPID), you will lead multiple technical teams, providing mentorship and guidance to advance financial technologies. This role involves overseeing the technical direction, ensuring operational efficiencies, and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion within the team.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers.
• Be accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
• Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary.
• Provide input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team.
• Create a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritize diverse representation.
• Code in Java, Spring, ETL, Oracle, and AWS in an Agile environment.
• Manage varying levels of Software Engineers utilizing Java, Spring, ETL, Oracle, and AWS in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience.
• 2 years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
• Experience leading teams of technologists.
• Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems.
• Practical cloud native experience.
• Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines.
• Coding experience in Core Java, Spring, Oracle, and ETL.
• Experience in AWS (EMR, GLUE, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, and Step Functions).
• Management experience with varying levels of Software Engineers.
• Strong understanding of all aspects of Agile and SDLC.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working at code level.
• AWS Certification.
• Experience in a very large Banking or Financial Services Technology Environment.
