About the position

Capgemini is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java/Springboot for a full-time hybrid role based in Philadelphia, PA. The position focuses on application development, performance optimization, and production support, requiring a strong background in Java and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Application development, implementing and optimizing algorithms and data structures to improve application performance.
• Implementing and understanding logging, metrics, and tracing for application monitoring and optimization.
• Conducting root cause analysis of production errors to identify and resolve issues.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Java J2EE, with strong proficiency in Java 8 and related frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, Hibernate).
• Solid knowledge of databases (Oracle or PostgreSQL).
• Proficient in writing scripts in Python or Java and optimizing SQL queries.
• Required production support experience.
• Knowledge of Kibana or any other logging framework.
• Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Understanding of CI/CD best practices and troubleshooting build pipelines.
• Familiarity with AWS EKS and/or Kubernetes is a plus.
• Experience with integration architecture concepts and patterns, including Microservices, Service Oriented Architecture, Batch Integration, RESTful JSON services, and Event Driven Architecture.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience integrating with Cloud/SaaS applications, APIs, SDK of packaged applications, and legacy applications.
