Java SQL Developer- W2 only.

About the position

We are seeking experienced Java SQL Developers to join our client’s team in Houston. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-impact project. The ideal candidates will have strong expertise in Java development and SQL, contributing to critical projects within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java applications.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures for efficiency.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement scalable applications.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve performance issues in Java applications and database queries.
• Ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java 8+, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, etc.).
• Proficiency in SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning in databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub/GitLab.
• Ability to analyze and optimize Java applications and SQL queries for efficiency.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, etc.).
• Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Agile/Scrum experience is a plus.
