About the position

The Java/SQL Developer position is a 6-month contract to hire role based in Houston, TX, focused on designing, developing, and troubleshooting Java-based enterprise applications with significant SQL integration. The role requires a skilled developer who can efficiently switch between Java and SQL to optimize performance and resolve issues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot Java-based enterprise applications.
• Seamlessly integrate and optimize SQL within the application.
• Utilize SSRS for reporting and data management.
• Collaborate effectively with the team to communicate progress and ideas.
• Address and resolve application issues to improve performance.
• Ensure smooth functionality and efficiency in both Java and SQL components.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Java application development.
• 5+ years of SQL experience, including strong skills with SSRS.
• Proven experience with Spring/Spring MVC.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and share progress openly.
• Availability to work onsite 5 days a week.
