About the position
The Java Technical Lead position involves creating user information solutions through the development, implementation, and maintenance of Java-based components and interfaces. The role emphasizes writing efficient, testable code, ensuring compliance with specifications, and preparing software component releases. The candidate will also support continuous improvement initiatives and assist users with documentation and tools, while coordinating application development activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Ensure code quality, unit test cases, and best coding practices are met.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Work on Proof-of-Concept projects to create reusable development patterns.
- Participate in all agile ceremonies and lead technology solutioning.
Requirements
- 7+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced Degree.
- 7+ years of experience in Unit Testing / Test Automation in an Agile environment.
- Extensive experience in the full SDLC, including delivery.
- Expertise in using GIT repositories for code management.
- Proficiency in Java 8+ (Java 17 preferred).
- Expertise in Spring Boot / Spring Batch.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in Oracle 19C+ & SQL, including writing queries and understanding relational database objects.
- Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
- Experience in cloud computing.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of .NET language and SSIS package development.
- Tech lead experience, particularly in transitioning from batch processing to API.
- Experience modernizing 60-80 small batch applications.
