SS&C is seeking a Java Web Developer to join our Trade Thru Development Team. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing both documented and verbal functional specifications. The Java Web Developer will provide support for applications deployed in the private cloud/network. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a readiness to collaborate with internal teams, including development and business teams. The ability to design solution fixes and either implement them or collaborate on the implementation is crucial. Successful candidates should possess strong technical skills and an ability to adapt to changing priorities. In this position, you will work in an agile environment with a strong commitment to team goals. You will need to understand the application logic and code, exhibit strong debugging and analytical skills for resolving issues, and acquire knowledge in the business domain and application flow. Coordination on updates, understanding issues and problems, and taking initiative to resolve them will be part of your daily responsibilities. Clear and effective communication in written updates to the business is essential. You will also review technical design, code, and business documentation, document code changes with quality and maintenance in mind, and create unit test cases and test data based on user stories and requirements defined. Participation in walk-throughs, inspections, and review meetings to learn about new features being deployed is also expected.
