About the position

The JavaScript Developer position is a long-term contract role within a prominent financial services company located in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on Information Security Engineering, requiring collaboration with internal customers to gather requirements and develop cybersecurity metrics dashboards. The position demands a blend of development experience, particularly in JavaScript, and a solid understanding of information security practices.

Responsibilities

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Information Security Engineering.
• Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Information Security Engineering challenges.
• Contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
• Develop cybersecurity metrics dashboards and other tools to support metrics development and operation.
• Work with internal customers to gather and understand requirements.
• Function as a technical lead when needed for feature and functionality development.
• Perform code reviews and testing.
• Collaborate with a small team of developers and share development responsibilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
• 10+ years developer experience with 7+ years JavaScript development experience.
• Server-side Node.js or other JavaScript/Typescript development experience.
• Experience developing dashboards.
• Good communication skills and the ability to summarize and document technical processes.
• Experience with cybersecurity or metrics.
• Proficiency working in both Windows and Linux server environments.
• Strong database and SQL skills.
• Solid understanding of different types of code-coverage and writing Unit/Functional tests.
• Experience with Active Directory and LDAP.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Exposure to UX/UI design concepts.

Nice-to-haves

• Typescript experience.
• Basic experience with Linux server administration.
• T-SQL and SQL Server experience.
• Experience with modern CSS techniques and front-end performance optimization.
• Java/Groovy/Gradle experience for occasional updates and debugging of Jenkins pipelines.
• Experience with TFS for reviewing legacy code and GIT for all other SCM.
• Experience working in the financial services industry, particularly other banks.
• Full stack development experience.
