About the position

We are seeking a Senior JavaScript/NodeJS Developer for an 18-month contract position in Orlando, FL. This hybrid role requires the developer to work four days a week in the office. The ideal candidate will leverage their full-stack software engineering experience to build, implement, and maintain tools and automation in collaboration with a scrum team, while also advocating for innovative approaches to enhance efficiency and availability.

Responsibilities

• Build, implement, and maintain tools and automation in collaboration with the scrum team.
• Develop specifications for new projects, platforms, and tools.
• Advocate for innovative approaches to drive efficiency and availability using expertise in SRE and DevOps.
• Design and implement UIs that assist Systems Engineers and other IT professionals.
• Design and implement back-end services.
• Combine software engineering and site-reliability engineering best practices to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
• Assist in requirements gathering and provide technical documentation.
• Write code, review peers' code, mentor junior- to mid-level engineers, write documentation, write tests, perform testing, and debug code.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in coding and development of highly scalable software components or client-facing web applications.
• Experience with TypeScript and NodeJS.
• Proficiency with current software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts and best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and test-driven development.
• Strong experience in Object-Oriented design principles, patterns, and coding best practices.
• Proficiency with Restful API development using NodeJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Express.
• Proficiency with UI development using Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with database applications such as Aurora MySQL and DynamoDB.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud computing and infrastructure.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous work as a developer in an incident messaging group.
• Knowledge of Data Structures and their applications.
